It still needs a name. I think Barbara is really appropriate. Or maybe Barabus. Barnabus?*
We’re currently seeking the resources to outfit our 1993 International 60-odd-some-passenger bus. It was purchased from a man in Eastern North Carolina in February. He purchased it from the US Marine Corps. So we know it’s tough. Ian is researching methods of sustainable fuel production and systems that operate on waste vegetable oil. I was just informed this evening that there is a (very admirable) group of folks in Washington that have managed to operate on bird seed. Now that’s something. (That we probably can’t do.)
But…”T-REX” the bus is about to undergo some very major mechanical adjustments. Including but not limited to the addition of solar panels, matching batteries, a sustainable fuel system, solar ovens and hammocks made from coffee burlap sacks. And of course, a swing will have to be mounted somewhere.
Check back soon for updates. Or check in with us if you have any suggestions/ideas/skills/encouragement.
*She’s been christened “T-REX.” Check out her new horse skull ornament in our bus catalogue.
